Sam N. Seeger, focused her Bachelors of Fine Arts in sculpture and minored in photography at Ringling College of Art and Design. While earning her degree, Sam worked for the college as studio monitor, mentor for rising students, teacher assistant, and represented the Fine Arts Department as the student liaison. She’s going to complete her Masters in Fine Arts, focused in sculpture, to one day teach students seeking their Bachelor Degrees.
Sam’s romance with sculpture began by the end of her first year in college. By her second year the Fine Arts faculty, and Glass Alliance of Sarasota awarded her with a fully endowed scholarship to Pilchuck Glass School for the summer of 2018. Which encouraged her in the Fall of 2018 to organize the first ever Glass Blowing Club on Ringling’s campus. The following summer, she completed a self-directed residency at Atlanta Hot Glass funded by the generous Glass Alliance of Sarasota. This residency then lead her into a 6-month internship with Zen Glass Studio where she served as a hot shop assistant, and an assistant instructor. During her final semester of college, Seeger achieved the Stone Scholarship, honor roll, and won the Gold Award from Best of Ringling’s first online exhibition. She was also the first student to graduate from Ringling College of Art and Design with a thesis focused in blown glass.
